United States: Four dead in bar shooting, manhunt launched

Four people were killed Friday in a shooting at a bar in Montana, USA , local authorities said. A manhunt has been launched for the shooter, according to a Facebook post by Anaconda-Deer Lodge County police.

The shooting occurred around 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Owl Bar, according to the Montana Division of Criminal Investigation. The motive for the shooting is still unknown. An investigation is ongoing. The suspect, who is on the run, is believed to still be armed, authorities said in a statement.

The owner of the Firefly Café in Anaconda told The Associated Press she closed her business around 11 a.m. Friday morning after being alerted to the shooting by a friend. Two hours later, she was still waiting for a positive response from law enforcement before reopening.

"We live in Montana, so guns are nothing new to us. But the fact that our town was locked down was a shock to everyone," said Barbie Nelson, the cafe owner. "It's a small town, so we probably all know someone who was there (during the shooting)," she added.
