This show, which lasts about an hour and a half and whose idea is to "promote the values of the Republic" , represents a cost of 11 million euros, of which 6 come from private funding and 5 from public funds, one of his sources told AFP, confirming information from local media, including Ici Normandie .
Co-produced with Thierry Reboul, former director of ceremonies for the 2024 Olympic Games , this project, entitled "14.7", was presented this week to elected officials and is "not validated" , Thomas Jolly's entourage told AFP.
It requires a favorable vote from Rouen City Hall and the Metropolis, but no date had been set as of Friday for holding an extraordinary municipal council meeting, nor a metropolitan council meeting. The project also requires "the consolidation of private partnerships," according to his entourage.
A “colossal sum”This project, which the duo has been working on since December, is designed to take place on the banks of the Seine, in the town where Thomas Jolly grew up. It is about "highlighting Rouen artists and local cultural associations," according to his entourage, who do not wish to comment on the project "until it is validated and 100% funded."
In a statement, the Metropolis, chaired by the socialist mayor Nicolas Mayer-Rossignol , confirmed that the project was "not validated" . It defended a public financial contribution "less than 50% of the total budget of the event" . "This funding would in no case be to the detriment of the public policies implemented by the two communities" , it added.
