Cannes Film Festival 2025: Fan Fever

The Croisette on the horizon. They arrive in their camper van. Suzanne and Pierre Simon are eager to enjoy their fourteenth Cannes Film Festival . "It's our little May getaway, we love it," explained the festival-goer. As heads of a small association, they have accreditation as film buffs. At the foot of the Palais des Festivals, they are far from the only ones aiming for the opening ceremony. Here, there are no journalists or film professionals, just amateur film buffs ready to wait for hours.

To get to the top, there's also a cheeky technique. Holding placards, they beg for an invitation to a screening in the holy of holies. Feeling the thrill of being in the same room as Tom Cruise, thanks to a good Samaritan, is the goal of dozens of people. When Hollywood arrives in Cannes, the red carpet becomes a dream machine. Suzanne and Pierre Simon have a mission: to identify films to recommend to their local cinema. To do this, they aim to screen three films a day.
