The 38-year-old actress presented her third film as director in competition at Cannes, La Petite Dernière . A source of pride for this self-taught actress, determined to fulfill her childhood dreams.
2025 is a good year for Hafsia Herzi. She had barely been awarded the César for Best Actress for her role in Borgo , by Stéphane Demoustier, when she learned that her third film as director, La Petite Dernière, had been selected for competition. She is all the more proud of it, as she is self-taught and never went to film school, and this project was not the easiest to put together. Adapted from the autobiographical novel by Fatima Daas, it depicts a young Muslim woman who discovers her homosexuality and the path she takes to come to terms with it.
