Historical documents have just been unveiled by Stanford University in the United States concerning recordings of Klaus Barbie, head of the Lyon Gestapo. These recordings recount his meeting with Jean Moulin, who was arrested and tortured. The circumstances surrounding the death of the founder of the National Council of the Resistance are also revealed.

Klaus Barbie—that name probably rings a bell. He was the head of the Lyon Gestapo and spoke to a journalist at the time about the death of the most famous resistance fighter, Jean Moulin. Stanford University in the United States has released audio recordings of the Nazi. In his interview, torturer Klaus Barbie recounted the circumstances surrounding the death of Jean Moulin, who was imprisoned and tortured in Lyon in 1943.

The audio track has been released, and it shows the head of the Lyon Gestapo explaining his version of events surrounding the Frenchman's death: " In prison, we had a cellar downstairs. That's where Jean Moulin attempted suicide. He was certainly tied up by the hands, but I didn't have him tied up by the feet. I didn't think about it, the guards didn't pay attention. He would gain momentum and go head first into the wall and split his skull open. That's why he died. "
