In Nice, CGT activists tried to recruit (in a humorous way) another Minister of Culture

Nice's "Speed Dati" to find a new Minister of Culture. "Because this one really doesn't do the job," smiles Jean-Louis Ruf, musician and local representative of the French Union of Performing Artists.
This branch of the CGT, like the National Union of Visual Artists, had decided to contribute in its own way to the national movement launched against budget cuts by the Ministry and local authorities in the cultural sector. Budget cuts amounting to €47 million for the performing arts alone, a claim that Rachida Dati denies.
The minister, who was mocked at the last Molières awards ceremony, made no secret of her irritation on France Inter. She has become the target of the cultural world, which is criticizing her lack of resilience.
In Nice, this Friday evening, on the Bourgada esplanade, activists decided to organize a speed Dati (in reference to speed dating) to find a successor.
Passers-by were invited to make suggestions for more culture and not fewer budgets.
