The Lascaux-Dordogne Tourist Office's favorites

At night, everything is sublime. The guided night tours of the Vézère Valley villages organized by the Lascaux-Dordogne Tourist Office are an opportunity to verify this. Join us every Thursday evening until September 4 for a tour lasting from 1 hour to 1 hour 30 minutes, depending on the village. Starting at 9 p.m., accompanied by professional guides from the Périgord Welcome agency, you will set off to discover well-known and little-known villages in the valley. "They all have stories to tell," promises the Lascaux-Dordogne Tourist Office. "Montignac, Aubas, Limeuil. These tours are an opportunity to enjoy the villages when they are most crowded, the temperatures are more pleasant, and at 9 p.m., halfway through the tour, we enjoy the sunset because in most of our villages, we have a short passage through more natural landscapes." » The meeting point is given in the center of the village, before a short stroll “with the guide who comes to provide anecdotes and historical information about the village”.
Information and reservations (mandatory) from the Lascaux-Dordogne tourist office, by telephone (05 53 51 82 60), via its website ( www.lascaux-dordogne.com ) or directly on site at the office in Montignac, Les Eyzies and Le Bugue or in its information offices (Limeuil and Rouffignac). “Know-how at the rendezvous”
Unusual and, above all, exclusive tours, "skills on display" offered by the Lascaux-Dordogne Tourist Office are a unique opportunity to visit local artisans and producers. "These are visits to artisans and producers in the Vézère Valley. A meeting that has existed for several years and has become very popular," explains the office. Until August 20, these tour formats are offered several times a week. "It's an opportunity for our local professionals to showcase their craft, their passion, and their workshop too. We go behind the scenes of their expertise." In small groups, these visits turn into privileged exchanges. Facsimile workshop in Montignac, the costume trunk, Maison Tricard (Bugue), La Lutine brewery, Piments du Périgord (Thonac)... On the menu: passion, heritage, and creativity.

Mappings and gourmet markets
For a moment out of time, the Lascaux-Dordogne tourist office suggests going to see the mapping in Les Eyzies. "A sound and light projection on the cliff, every evening, until August 25." If you pass through the village, don't hesitate to stop by to discover this show, starting at 10:30 p.m., on the cliffs of the museum. "It's a free mapping on the theme of biodiversity, with nature scenes and beautiful colors," reveals the office.
We continue with another mapping in Coly-Saint-Amand, a village classified as one of the Most Beautiful Villages in France, projected onto the abbey. "Every Tuesday evening until August 19, the "Abbey of Light" event offers a very pretty mapping, starting at 10 p.m., with free participation." You shouldn't miss the open-air cinema screenings, resulting from the Soirs des Toiles festival, until August 11. "We have quite a few dates in the Vézère Valley, and the screening costs 5 euros, either by booking directly on the cinema websites or paying on site." Cinema quizzes are offered before the screening, and you can count on light refreshments on site.
Finally, gourmet markets are organized every evening, from Monday to Saturday, in one or two villages. "Musical ambiance, summer atmosphere, local products... they are a true example of the Périgourdine way of life." From 6:30 p.m., bring your own dishes!
