What to expect at the Green Shift Festival from June 4 to 6 in Monaco

Organized by the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation, the Green Shift Festival returns for a third edition on June 4, 5, and 6 at Place Anne-Marie Campora, on the Larvotto promenade. This new edition, open to the public and free of charge, has not lost sight of its goal: to foster new, positive and inspiring ecological stories through a sensitive approach combining ecology, art, and culture.
The 2025 edition also focuses on creativity and commitment. "By reinventing our relationship with living things, we can profoundly transform our world. The Green Shift Festival is an invitation to explore together paths of joyful, collective and desirable ecological transition," emphasizes Olivier Wenden, Vice President and CEO of the Foundation.
Three themed eveningsThree themed evenings will punctuate the event, each day starting at 6 p.m. The festivities begin on Wednesday, June 4 with "Welcome to 2025," a fun evening orchestrated by experts Yasmina Auburtin, with Mathieu Baudin and Hélène Binet. They will offer the public the opportunity to experience a successful ecological transition through a participatory conference-show, on the border between storytelling, alternate history, and performance. A leap in time into "a world where our collective efforts have made it possible to achieve a sustainable transition, a source of joy and well-being," the Foundation specifies.
The following day, Thursday, June 5, will be the occasion for an immersive evening "At the Heart of the Living" led by Marianne Leenart, François Sarano and Laurent Tillon, to better understand the dynamics of the living world and our interdependencies, particularly through the eco-psychological approach.
Finally, the festival will conclude with a "Music and Ecology" evening on Friday, June 6. The event is designed as a celebration of artistic commitment to the planet, featuring artists Tom Frager and Hélène Vogelsinger, in conversation with Arthur Lecercle and Magali Payen.
It should be noted that each day will begin with a wellness session (mindful breathing, qigong, sound therapy), in partnership with the Kate Powers Foundation*, to reconnect body and mind. Starting at 6 p.m., the public will be able to discover the "Committed Happy Hours," hosted by Sébastien Uscher, with presentations of local ecological initiatives, entertainment, and performances. The catering area, in collaboration with Camion Valentin, is open until 10 p.m. to prolong the pleasure over dinner, a signing session at the bookstore stand, or a simple conversation, facing the sea and with musical background.
Environmental photography prize in the spotlightThe Prince Albert II Foundation's 2025 Environmental Photography Prize will also be honored at the opening of its exhibition, in the presence of the grand prize winner and members of the jury, on Friday, June 6 at 6 p.m. "The photographers' testimonies enrich our knowledge and weave new imaginations that call for greater collective mobilization to save our planet," recalls Olivier Wenden.
And because the Green Shift Festival aims to be a "laboratory of ideas and experiments" , this year it is offering a participatory fresco, designed in collaboration with the scenography agency Bureau Walter and the illustrator Chloë Monti. Open to the public throughout the festival, this animation aims to create a collective work composing a sensitive and plural map of Monaco today and tomorrow. Passersby will be invited to appropriate a symbolic plot of the Principality's territory by writing a word, a sentence or a drawing.
