The 53-year-old journalist is joining a new media group. Having been removed from presenting the 8 p.m. news on France 2, Anne-Sophie Lapix will host the 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. slot on RTL starting this fall, replacing Yves Calvi, according to an internal message from RTL radio's management.

" Before it is publicly announced, we wanted to announce the arrival of Anne-Sophie Lapix […] next season. We wish her every success in this segment of information, reception, analysis and debate. We sincerely thank Yves [Calvi] and his team for this season on the 18-20 and are in discussion with them regarding next season," Jonathan Curiel, the head of RTL radio, announced to his teams on Monday, June 16.

In the process, the M6 ​​channel also announced the arrival of the journalist on their channel. "She will offer a major Sunday interview each week with a personality who is making the news," states the M6 ​​press release. "Furthermore, Anne-Sophie Lapix will take charge of special event programs devoted to major political, societal, or current affairs topics," the text adds.

On Tuesday, May 27, France Télévisions announced that the 53-year-old journalist would be stopping presenting the evening news on France 2 in mid-July. She had hosted the news since September 2017. The public broadcaster's management, who said they "wished to be able to count on Anne-Sophie Lapix's talent in the fall" and "would work with her on new projects within France Télévisions," initiated the departure. Following RTL's announcement, it is unclear whether such discussions are still ongoing with France Télé. The name of the journalist who will succeed him as presenter of the 8pm news has not yet been revealed.
