Renault has contacted 15,722 R5 and Alpine 290 drivers to ask them to go to their garage because of a risk of starting failure, reports "ici Nord" (ex-France Bleu) on Tuesday, February 25. This technical problem occurs only four months after the launch of the electric R5 .
The operation, free and quick, consists of "reprogramming the inverter calculator of the main electric motor" in order to avoid "a potential inability to start, accompanied or not by the display of the STOP light and the message: electric motor failure" , on the dashboard, explains Renault in a press release sent to "ici Nord". The manufacturer also specifies that this problem is not a recall campaign in the regulatory sense of the term, since it does not affect the safety of the driver.
