Venarey-Les Laumes. Blood donation: a satisfactory result for the June 5 collection

The 80 available places planned by the EFS (French Blood Establishment) for this third blood drive of the year had been booked on the reservation site. Under the supervision of Dr. Alain Puharre, the EFS Auxerre blood collection team, however, noted several absences among those who had booked online.

These absences were partially compensated for by the treatment of donors who showed up without an appointment. Thus, 77 people were admitted and, depending on the cases of contraindications to donation intended to guarantee the safety of patients and donors (anemia, fever or infection, tick bite, endoscopy or recent dental treatment, etc.), 67 donors were collected.

"To allow for greater fluidity and avoid waiting times or refusal of donations when there are no more places available, donor candidates are strongly advised to make an appointment online in advance on the EFS website," recalls Laurence Décombard , vice-president of the local association of blood donors, who also advises donors who are unable to make their appointment to cancel their appointment on the EFS website.
