In a press release issued this Thursday, June 5, the Region indicated that this visit was an opportunity to make a "very positive" assessment of the first actions initiated two years ago by the signing of the cooperation agreement between the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region and the Syunik Prefecture. Whether in health, agriculture or even vocational training, the projects supported by the community would have "started to produce concrete effects for the local populations" , it further welcomed.
The older partnerships created with the towns of Valence and Décines-Charpieu have also helped to develop viticulture and wine tourism through the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Wine Committee, which promotes French-speaking countries and higher education with the French University in Armenia (UFAR), and contributes to professional and craft training through several partnerships.

This visit was also an opportunity to discuss the future, particularly to identify new avenues for cooperation with existing twinned local areas. The municipalities of Vienne, Bron, Saint-Chamond, Le Puy-en-Velay, Montélimar, and Mornant also participated in this official visit. A bus dedicated to the oral health of Syunik residents, funded by the Region, is also expected to be launched soon.
