A journalist from Var racing from Paris to Saint-Tropez at the wheel of a 1976 Alfa Romeo Spider

With her blonde curls and red nail polish that matched the body of her car, she was made for the job. That of a princess on the road.
Like some eighty other teams driving classic and prestige cars, all registered before 1991, Carine Galli set off yesterday in the 2025 edition of the Rallye des Princesses at the wheel of a 1976 Alfa Romeo Spider 2000. She is teamed up with Corinne Loer who, in the left seat, will oversee the roadbook and the route to follow.
The challenge? A regularity test exclusively reserved for women, between Paris and Saint-Tropez, where Carine is from. Five days on the road for the competitors, whose performances are judged on their average speed, based on the age of their vehicles. The final day, Thursday, will take place in the Var region between Saint-Maximin, Bauduen, Le Muy, Châteaudouble... with a finish at the Saint-Tropez port parking lot to allow the Var residents to enjoy the beautiful parade.
" I'm doubly delighted to be taking part ," says Carine Galli, who sports fans are used to seeing on L'Équipe or hearing on RTL. " Firstly, because the competition is taking place between Paris, where I live and work today, and Saint-Tropez, where I grew up and where I spend my holidays. Secondly, because I was raised in the myth of Alfa Romeo, a manufacturer of which my father has always been a fan, " explains the young woman, who has been an ambassador for the Italian brand since February.
That's the rally part that motivates the journalist. But the princess part isn't bad either. Because this event lives up to its name. It's also an opportunity for the participants to live... like princesses for a few days. Each stopover town offers them the opportunity to discover charming hotels for a well-deserved rest before hitting the road again the next morning.
Having left Paris in the morning, the participants stopped in Dijon last night. This morning, they will head to Annecy, before heading to Avignon, in the Vaucluse region, on Tuesday. They will then arrive in the Var region on Wednesday evening for a final leg on Thursday.
Saint-Tropez, a princess destination par excellence. We told you Carine Galli was truly made for the job.
