Toulon lacking efficiency in Bayonne (15-3 at half-time)

In this final match of the Top 14 regular season, Toulon's players are enjoying the atmosphere of the Stade Jean Dauger. Having waited 30 years for a finals match, Bayonne's players are setting the stands and the pitch on fire, even though Pierre Mignoni's men were able to compete in the first half.

Except that unlike their opponents, the Varois dropped points along the way by seriously lacking efficiency during their strong periods. We think of the try disallowed by Wainiqolo who touched down just before the line or the penalty not attempted by Jaminet 30m from the posts when the score was 3-0. The choice of the penalty touch proved to be a losing one, as did two other offensives in the Basque 22m, without success.

On the other hand, the defense was somewhat passive on the two Bayonne attempts, notably the last one by Rouet in the 40th minute, which hurt the "red and black"'s head.
