Young people from the Brignoles Provence XV Rugby Club join the RCT Passion program

They distinguished themselves at the Brignoles Provence XV Rugby Club. Now, they are joining the RCT Passion program. After performing in the lower categories, Inès, Lilian, Matthieu, and Robin (under-14 category) were given the opportunity to join this program, which will be launched in September 2023.

Its goal is to train the next generation of rugby players in the region by developing a program and schedule that align academic and rugby goals. It also aims to strengthen relationships with regional clubs by regularly organizing discussions on the game and sports management.

A meeting was held between the co-president of the RCT association and former player Patrice Blachère, Lionel Conciatore, coordinator between the clubs and the RCT, and the Rugby club Brignoles Provence XV, represented by its president Nicolas Stoekel and the coaches, in order to inform the athletes of their successes.

Obviously, the BP XV will keep a close eye on the progress and development of the four young talents and will be able to take advantage of their talent during various training sessions and matches. Inès, Lilian, Matthieu, and Robin will then be able to benefit from preferential conditions to further their promising careers.

The RCT Passion program combines academics and athletic pursuits. It was originally the brainchild of Toulon Rugby Club director Pierre Mignoni, who wanted to enable young players to combine their athletic and academic goals. Called "RCT Passion," the program continues to expand with the signing of an agreement with the Nice Academy on September 20.

Since then, the players involved in this program have been grouped together in three different educational establishments (the Django-Reinhardt and Bon Accueil colleges in Toulon, and the Saint-Joseph La Navarre institution in La Crau) and will benefit from flexible schedules to ensure personalized monitoring, homework help and optimized training times.

Currently reserved for players in the 9th grade, RCT Passion has already planned to expand in the coming years to the 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th grades. The goal is to train a first generation of high school graduates by June 2027.
