The prestigious World's 50 Best Restaurants 2025 list , which recognizes the best restaurants in the world today, was unveiled in Turin on June 19. According to the list, certain destinations stand out with a high number of excellent restaurants. Here are six to add to your wish list!

1. ThailandOf the fifty restaurants on the list, six are located in Bangkok, including Gaggan , by flamboyant chef Gaggan Anand, which climbed to 6th place this year.
Potong restaurant, by chef Pichaya Soontornyanakij, aka Chef Pam, ranks 13th . She was also recognized as the best female chef in the world in 2025. At Sorn , chef Supaksorn Ice Jongsiri draws inspiration from southern Thai cuisine and ranks 17th . While at Sühring , twin brothers Mathias and Thomas Sühring venture between German flavors – their home country –, Italian, Dutch and Thai. This happy mix earned the restaurant a ranking of number 22 in the selection. Then chef Thitid Ton Tassanakajohn owns two establishments among the 50 best in the world: Le Du , 30th on the list, a table highlighting seasonal ingredients, and at 35th , Nusara , run by his brother, sommelier and maître d'hôtel, Tam Tassanakajohn, whose menu pays homage to their grandmother.
2. ItalyUnsurprisingly, Italy remains a top destination for good food and drink. The 2025 list also includes six Italian addresses, starting with Lido 84 , ranked 16th , located in Gardone Riviera in Lombardy, between Milan and Venice.
In the Abruzzo National Park, Reale is a close second at number 18. Niko and Cristiana Romtio's establishment is housed in a beautifully restored 16th- century monastery. Next up is Atelier Moessmer Norbert Niederkofler at number 20, near Brunico, on the border between the Alps and the Italian Dolomites. Further north, in Rubano, not far from Padua, chef Massimiliano Alajmo and his brother, Raffaele, the establishment's maître d', run Le Calandre , at number 31. Meanwhile, in Piedmont, in northwest Italy, the region's most prominent address is Enrico Crippa's restaurant in Piazza Duomo in Alba, at number 32 .
In the central-eastern part of the country, in the province of Ancona, on the Adriatic Sea, the Uliassi restaurant is also a family affair. Mauro and Catia, brother and sister, are the chef and maître d', respectively, and they perform both roles with flair.
3. PeruPeru, Lima in particular, maintains its constant presence in the prestigious list. The best restaurant in the world is once again Peruvian . This time it is Maido , by chef Mitsuharu Micha Tsumura, after Central received those honors in 2023. It offers Nikkei cuisine, a fusion of Japanese and Peruvian flavors. Chef Pia León of Kjolle restaurant, at number 9 this year, is the first woman to reach the World's Ten Best Restaurants milestone since the list began in 2002. Mérito is 26th , and Mayta is 39th .
4. FranceOn the French side, four Parisian addresses are among the selection. La Table Bruno Verjus is at number 8, Plénitude is at number 14, Septime at number 40, and Arpège at number 45.
5. SpainSpain, which topped the list last year, maintains its prominent position on the list. Asador Etxebarri in Atxondo in the Spanish Basque Country remains in second place, as does Diverxo in Madrid, which remains in fourth place. Elkano in Getaria, also in the Basque Country, is 24th on the list, while Enigma in Barcelona is 35th .
6. JapanAnother excellent culinary destination in Asia is Japan, particularly Tokyo.
Sézanne , led by British chef Daniel Calvert, is highly ranked, at number 7. The menu reflects a perfect balance between French techniques and Japanese ingredients and culinary traditions. Narisawa , number 21 on the list, is the only Japanese restaurant among the four nominated establishments. Chef Yoshihiro Narisawa draws inspiration from Japan's traditional agricultural system to create unique dishes. Florilège – chef Hiroyasu Kawate's contemporary take on French cuisine – is ranked 36. While La Cime , at number 44, offers a modern French interpretation by chef Yusuke Takada, and takes us to Osaka.
