These countries where the police drive Lamborghinis (and you know the last one well)

The police in some countries today boast exceptional racing cars. Lamborghini, a symbol of prestige and performance, stands out as one of them.

Long gone are the days when police drove Renault 4CVs or any other relatively modest vehicle. In several countries, police now use ultra-fast sports cars, and the Lamborghini is among the most iconic models.

Italy is a pioneer in this field. Since 2004, the Italian State Police ( Polizia di Stato ) has had Lamborghinis at its disposal, first Gallardos and then Huracáns . These cars are not only used for chasing reckless drivers, but also for emergency medical missions, such as transporting organs. For example, in 2022, a Huracán was used to deliver a kidney 400 km in record time, thanks to a top speed of 325 km/h.

The United Arab Emirates is the most famous country for its fleet of police supercars. In Dubai, the police force has been known for its fleet, including Aventadors , since 2013.

Their Qatari neighbors have also taken the step of integrating Lamborghini models Urus in its fleet at the time of the 2022 FIFA World Cup: mainly to patrol around the stadiums and ensure the safety of visitors.

In France, the police do not officially have a Lamborghini in their operational fleet, unlike some countries such as Italy or the Emirates. However, a Lamborghini Aventador was transformed into a police car in Dijon as part of a styling exercise and a publicity stunt. This 700-horsepower vehicle, loaned by a collector, was screen-printed in the colors of the national police to arouse public amazement and admiration, particularly during exhibitions and events dedicated to the police.

While the Lamborghini has become a symbol of prestige for some police forces around the world, its use is often limited to specific missions or communications. Italy remains the only country where these vehicles are regularly used for emergency response and operational missions.
