Elon Musk Enters Politics, America Party is Born

The budget bill, known as the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, was passed by Congress and signed by Donald Trump on July 4. Elon Musk then kept his promise of July 1 , announcing the birth of America Party . The initial goal is to get votes from citizens who do not feel represented by Republicans and Democrats.

Musk has strongly criticized the bill, noting that it will increase the federal deficit by up to $2.5 trillion. The so-called One Big Beautiful Bill Act also eliminates incentives (tax credits) for renewable energy sources (wind and solar), causing the loss of millions of jobs. It is also a favor to China, as it will slow the development of AI technologies.

On the day Trump signed the law, Musk asked his 221 million followers if they wanted independence from the current two-party system. 65.4% of about 1.25 million users who voted said yes. Last night, Musk then announced the birth of the America Party .

He later teased his political strategy. The goal is to target 2 or 3 Senate seats and 8 or 10 House districts. Given the extremely thin margins in Congress, Musk's party could block the passage of the most controversial bills.

Replying to a user, Musk confirmed that he intends to participate in the midterm elections in 2026. This will be the first test for America Party. After that, he will aim for the presidential elections in 2028. Obviously, he cannot be the candidate, as he was born in South Africa. The only obstacle to the creation of the party is bureaucratic, while there are no problems with financing. According to Bloomberg , his assets exceed 361 billion dollars.
