Illegal work in the company: removal order issued
Massa Marittima, November 8, 2025 – An ordinance A document for the removal of illegal structures was signed a few days ago by the director of private construction for the Municipality of Massa Marittima. It was the Carabinieri who notified the agency that on a farm in the Centinelle area, in the countryside surrounding the town of Balestro, near Marsiliana, there were several structures that had been erected without authorization. This structure is called a "Foam Pit Platform," made of wood and anchored to the ground with wooden posts driven into the ground, some of which rest on pre-cast concrete blocks. Other structures will also have to be removed: a metal platform positioned on concrete blocks that were placed after excavating the ground; and a "Foam Pit Tower," also made of wood, anchored on 50-centimeter concrete bases. Also illegal is a "Salti in terra" line consisting of 13 piles of earth of varying sizes, each measuring 1.80 meters high. But that's not all. The property also features a structure called a "bubble landing pad," which consists of an inflatable cushion; a "training ramp" resting on the ground; "slide tracks," made of iron pipes and positioned over a pond; a "zip line," consisting of two wooden towers connected by a steel cable, anchored by wooden posts driven into the ground and cables attached to concrete blocks; a "roller coaster" area, also anchored to the ground with wooden posts and steel cables; a "catapult line, jumps, and swings," an "airplane jump," and an "excavator jump." These structures, built by the owner of the agritourism business—a well-known Austrian cyclist and YouTuber—are used as mountain bike training facilities. Two people have been in trouble: the business owner and the surveyor who designed the platforms. "It was determined that the structures were constructed in May 2025 without building permits in an area subject to hydrogeological restrictions." The Municipality has therefore ordered the demolition of the structures and the restoration of the site within a mandatory 90-day deadline.
