“We are ready to increase our production capacity in the military field, without having to reconvert civil activities, but by reallocating them within our flexible and integrated industrial network”. Pierroberto Folgiero, CEO and General Manager of Fincantieri, said this in an interview with Bloomberg Agency.

“The opportunity offered by the new wave of global investments is exceptional,” explained Folgiero, “and our production structure allows us to adapt quickly, increasing volumes in Italian civil and military shipyards, also through greater site specialization.” In a context of strong increase in defense spending in Europe, Fincantieri aims to further strengthen its presence in the sector, with the naval unit expected to represent 30 percent of revenues by 2027, against 20 percent in 2023. The Group is evaluating a strengthening of the military specialization of the Castellammare di Stabia and Palermo sites, currently active on both the civil and military fronts.
