The first Dop tourism report was presented in Rome , an analysis of the role of products with a designation of origin as a lever for tourism in Italy. Among the protagonists, the Grana Padano Consortium which, with the new experience center on Lake Garda , is a candidate to become one of the most sought-after destinations for travellers looking for authentic experiences between taste, territory and culture. The report, promoted by Fondazione Qualivita and Origin Italia , photographs an Italy in which agri-food quality is becoming an increasingly attractive tourist attraction: 585 initiatives, 361 consortia involved, 597 DOP and IGP products, 103 taste itineraries, 17 UNESCO sites and dozens of rural landscapes and protected areas. A heritage that attracts millions of visitors every year, with the Grana Padano territory at the center of a tourist flow that exceeds 50 million annual visitors.
The presentation of the Dop tourism report marks a new phase for Italian tourism , where agri-food excellence becomes the protagonist of itineraries, experiences and projects for territorial enhancement. The Grana Padano Experience Center presents itself as a symbol of this evolution, ready to welcome and fascinate millions of tourists between the lake, mountains and sea. The president of the Consortium, Renato Zaghini , underlines: “Good food is the fruit of a culture spread at all levels and of the art of knowing how to do things that the world envies us and comes to Italy to appreciate. Every day, Grana Padano Dop plays its role as leader of the Geographical Indications system, creating an extraordinary business card for Italy as a whole, food, cultural, historical and tourist”.
