Bologna, 26 June 2025 – Gianmarco Fabio Lamborghini , son of a brother of Ferruccio Lamborghini , and the manager of his company have been sentenced by the Civil Court of Bologna to comply with certain provisions, holding them responsible for violation of trademark rights and unfair competition through confusion.
The background of the storyAs reported by the 'Corriere di Bologna', the one who filed the lawsuit, six years ago, was Tonino Lamborghini, son and official heir of Ferruccio , founder of the House of the Bull. Apparently Fabio Lamborghini accredited himself around the world as Ferruccio's heir by promoting various initiatives and participating in various high-level events. The Court imposed the payment of one thousand euros for each possible single future violation, plus approximately 15 thousand euros in legal costs. Tonino had also reported his cousin in his capacity as owner of his company and of the association that manages the Lamborghini Museum in Funo di Argelato.
During the trial it emerged that he had used the Lamborghini brand (the one with the bull) and had used his surname making people believe he was one of Ferruccio's heirs , or in any case generating confusion about it, for personal purposes. The Court did not grant Ferruccio's heir any compensation , because a contraction in the turnover of Tonino's company was not demonstrated.
However, Fabio Lamborghini will no longer be able to use the Bull brand or “exploit the quality of heir” of Ferruccio Lamborghini. The defense has announced that it reserves the right to appeal .
