Kiev writes to Nordio: better conditions for Kuznietsov, imprisoned for the Nord Stream attack.

Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights Dmytro Lubinets has sent a letter to Italian Justice Minister Carlo Nordio to request adequate guarantees for Serhii Kuznietsov , the 49-year-old former Ukrainian soldier accused of sabotaging the Nord Stream gas pipeline in 2022 and arrested on a European warrant issued by Germany last August in the province of Rimini.
"I spoke with his wife, Galina Kuznietsova , who confirmed that her husband is continuing his hunger strike and his health is critical," Lubinets was quoted as saying by Ukrainian media.
The official also sent the letter to the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, EU Vice President Pina Picierno , and the president of the Coordination of Regional Ombudsmen, Marino Fardelli . Lubinets emphasized that holding Kuznietsov in a maximum-security prison and in inadequate conditions "is unacceptable and contradicts the Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms."
November 4th Last week, the man's lawyer Nicola Canestrin i reported to the authorities the hunger strike undertaken by his client to "demand respect for his fundamental rights, including the right to adequate food, a healthy environment, dignified detention conditions and equal treatment with other prisoners in terms of family visits and access to information".
