Referendum, in Tuscany everything is ready at the polling stations: a day and a half of voting

Florence, June 7, 2025 – Five ballots and two days of voting. The referendum is starting at the national level and in Tuscany the polling stations in schools are also getting ready. Everything is ready for the voting operations, which will open on Sunday, June 8 from 7:00 to 23:00, while on Monday, June 9, voting will take place from 7:00 to 15:00. Then the counting will begin.

Five questions in the abrogative referendums. Jobs Act , compensation for dismissals, fixed-term contracts, workplace safety and shortening the time to obtain Italian citizenship: these are the five themes the referendum is developing. For each theme you will receive a ballot and each ballot will have a different color. Here is all the information on voting

Polls are open as usual in schools. For this reason, many institutes throughout Tuscany have already concluded lessons. During the week, the referendum campaign ended in all the provincial capitals with a series of final events including round tables and music. In Florence, in Piazza del Carmine, Giancane performed.

To vote, you must go to your polling station (the number is shown on your electoral card) with your electoral card and an identity document (identity card or other identification document issued by a public administration or a professional association, provided it has a photograph; identification cards issued by the National Union of Retired Officers of Italy are also valid, provided they are validated by a military command).

The consultation is valid only if the quorum is reached: 50% + 1 of those entitled to vote. Otherwise, the rules for which it is not reached will remain in force. The real test is therefore the turnout at the polls for the consultations. The last time a referendum reached over 50% and therefore the quorum was in 2011, when the four questions on public water, nuclear power and legitimate impediment reached a turnout of 54.8% (and a percentage of votes in favor of over 95%).
