Cincinnati Live: Bronzetti eliminated, Paolini soon to play. Sinner at 9 p.m.

The men's quarterfinals and the women's round of 16 are set for a day in Cincinnati: three Italians will compete in singles. Lucia Bronzetti opens the day, losing in straight sets to Coco Gauff (2-6, 4-6). Next up is a remake of the 2024 Wimbledon final between Jasmine Paolini and Czech Barbora Krejcikova, and finally, in prime time (no earlier than 9 p.m.), Jannik Sinner faces Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime. Tonight, Sara Errani and Jasmine Paolini will be chasing a semifinal in the doubles against Stearns/Vondrousova.
Medical time out for Krejcikova
After losing her serve for the second time, Krejcikova seeks physiotherapy for a problem with the sole of her left foot.
Paolini breaks again in the second set
In the opening game of the second set, Jasmine broke Krejcikova's serve and then held her own service game: 6-1, 2-0 to the Italian. The Czech, in serious physical difficulty, was too foul-prone.
Paolini wins the first set: 6-1
Paolini was responsive and precise, holding the court well against Krejcikova's powerful (but inaccurate) shots. The Czech was prone to errors, losing her serve for the second time in the sixth game. Then Jasmine sealed the win: 6-1 in half an hour of play.
Paolini holds the break lead
Krejcikova was very aggressive in her return, trying to shorten the rallies as much as possible, but to no avail. She made too many errors in her return to Paolini's serve, keeping her serve at love: 4-1 for the Italian.
Solid Jasmine: 3-0
Paolini had a great service game, consolidating her break and taking a 3-0 lead. Krejcikova made a lot of errors on the serve.
Break Paolini!
Jasmine Paolini was very aggressive on Krejcikova's serve, constantly under pressure on her serve. And on the third break point, she broke the Czech's serve: 2-0.
Paolini starts well 1-0
Jasmine made two forehand errors in the first three points of the match (15-30). Then, three consecutive points in the first game.
Paolini-Krejcikova at 7:00 p.m.
Jasmine Paolini will take to the court at 7:00 p.m. on Centre Court. She will face Barbora Krejcikova in a remake of the 2024 Wimbledon final. A quarterfinal match against Gauff is up for grabs.
Gauff beats Bronzetti 6-2 6-4
Lucia Bronzetti loses her service game in the tenth game. Game, set, and match for Coco Gauff: 6-2 6-4
Balanced second set
Bronzetti and Gauff had no break points in the four sets. The next set follows the service order: 5-4 Gauff.
Bronzetti raises the pace: 3-2 Gauff
First, a counterbreak in the third game, then a service game held with agility and in the fifth game a lot of fighting on Gauff's serve (with a break point). The score remains 3-2 Gauff.
Gauff also ahead in the second set
Fifth consecutive game for Coco Gauff who changes the pace of the match and also directs the second set: American ahead 2-0 and serving
Gauff wins the first set: 6-2
Gauff raises the level of her tennis (and the power of her shots) and scores a partial of 12 points to 3. She wins the first set 6-2
Another Gauff break: 5-2
Despite a game point on her own serve, Bronzetti loses serve again. A few first serves and a second serve that's too light allow the American to get ahead of the Italian's serve. The seventh game is easy, held to love: 5-2 for Gauff.
Counterbreak Bronzetti
Bronzetti had a good service game, hitting four first serves, holding serve, and moving the score to 3-1. The Italian's positive streak continued, with a counterbreak in the fifth game: 3-2.
Gauff serves solidly: 3-0
Gauff's match continues without a hitch, leaving the Italian tennis player with crumbs and taking a 3-0 lead.
Gauff breaks: 2-0
Lucia Bronzetti fails to hold her first serve and concedes a break to the American. At the start of the match, the difference in power between the two players is evident.
