Lucchese fans: four offers have arrived for the management of the club.
Lucca, July 10, 2025 – We're finally there! We'll soon know which club will allow Lucchese to restart from the Eccellenza championship: the public tender promoted by the Municipality of Lucca to select the new corporate body called to represent the city of Lucca in the next Eccellenza championship expired on the afternoon of July 10 at 2:00 PM.
Palazzo Orsetti has received four applications, which will now be examined by the ad hoc commission. The commission, which will work in support of Mayor Mario Pardini , will meet to conduct an initial evaluation of the proposals, in full compliance with the required criteria of transparency, legality, and reliability.
The group includes the deputy mayor and sports councillor Fabio Barsanti , the president of Panathlon and former AC Milan icon Lucio Nobile , the rector of the IMT High Studies School and former president of the Serie A League Lorenzo Casini , the lawyer specialising in sports law Jonathan Pezzini , the accountant and statutory auditor Moreno Pagnini , the former municipal councillor Celestino Marchini and Moreno Micheloni of Lucca United, a historic SLO representing the fans.
After the bids were opened, the municipality released this statement: "This continues the process initiated by the municipal administration following the bankruptcy of Lucchese 1905 srl, with the aim of ensuring continuity for local football. The FIGC's recent approval—which granted Lucca the possibility of registering a new club in the Eccellenza championship as a supernumerary club—represented a decisive step, allowing the municipality to quickly activate a public, transparent process that respects federal regulations. With the closing of the tender, today marks a further step forward in giving Lucca a team back, reflecting the deep bond that unites the city to the Rossoneri."
The statement from Palazzo Orsetti continues: "In the coming days, the commission will identify, through an in-depth study and targeted discussions, the proposal deemed most suitable, solid, and sustainable, thus allowing the mayor to proceed with the letter of accreditation from the FIGC for the new ownership structure, as required by the process established by the relevant bodies." Now we just have to wait and see who will lead Lucchese back from the Eccellenza league, with what project, and above all, with what guarantees.
