The “Donne In Canto” Festival, part of the “L'Estate in città” review, arrives in Castellanza on Saturday 5 July at 9:30 pm with a musical event that unites two generations of musicians united by their love for the blues . The Courtyard of Palazzo Brambilla will host Bluesy, a very young singer with a powerful and warm voice, accompanied by maestro Renato Caruso on guitar in an evocative live duo .
The event represents one of the central moments of the 17th edition of the festival, conceived and directed by Giorgio Almasio who, this year, has Lucrezia Lante Della Rovere as godmother and is dedicated to Raffaella Carrà .
" Donne In Canto represents for our City and for the entire territory that hosts it a cultural heritage to be preserved and cultivated - says the mayor of Castellanza, Cristina Borroni -. This festival has been able to build a widely recognized artistic identity over time, giving the communities that host it the opportunity to meet and appreciate leading artists. The support of our administration for this event demonstrates the will and commitment to the enhancement of culture through events that combine artistic excellence and community growth".
Who are Bluesy and…Bluesy, born Miriam Maffei in 2004, achieved national fame through her participation in «Amici '22» . Her musical training began very early, at just nine years old, developing not only vocal technique but also a distinctive stage presence and a unique artistic identity in the panorama of blues, rhythm and blues and Italian pop. The evening's repertoire will span different musical generations and genres, ranging from great international classics such as Ain't No Sunshine , Stand by Me , Killing Me Softly and Creep , to the more contemporary emotions of Turning Tables , A Thousand Years and Valerie . There will also be the public's most beloved Italian songs , including E penso a te , La notte , Ti scatterò una foto and Brividi , with a final touch of irony through A me me piace 'o blues and La bambola .
…Renato CarusoRenato Caruso, guitarist, composer and scholar of the science of music , boasts an excellent educational background with a diploma in classical guitar and a degree in computer science and music computer science. His career includes collaborations with leading artists such as Dik Dik, Alex Britti and Fabio Concato , as well as projects with Mediaset alongside Gerry Scotti.
The Castellanza concert is part of Renato Caruso's solo exhibition within the Donne In Canto 2025 Festival, following the tradition inaugurated in 2021 with Massimo Germini and continued in 2022 with Ros Cazzaniga. Caruso's academic experience includes the role of research fellow at the University of Milan-Bicocca and dissemination activities in schools and universities on topics that intertwine music, science and philosophy. For five years he taught at Ron's music academy "Una Città Per Cantare" and participated in events of national importance such as "La Milanesiana", the Concertone del Primo Maggio and the Milan Music Week.
" The Donne In Canto Festival returns to the city with the concert of Bluesy and Renato Caruso - is the comment of the Councilor for Culture and Education of Castellanza Davide Tarlazzi -. With Giorgio Almasio, artistic director of the Festival, we chose to propose an original and fascinating artistic meeting, also designed to involve the younger audience. The presence of Bluesy, a voice from the world of talent, responds to this intent. Alongside her, the experience and musical elegance of Renato Caruso will contribute to giving life to a performance that will make us appreciate once again the beauty of quality live music".
Reservations for the event will be possible starting from June 28th through the official website of the festival ( www.donneincanto.org ). In case of adverse weather conditions, the show will be held at the theater in via Dante. The evening represents a unique opportunity to attend an intimate and refined musical dialogue between two generations of artists, where the freshness and talent of a young promise of Italian blues blend with the experience and mastery of one of the most versatile guitarists on the national scene.
