Serie A rugby, Trechas from Prato signs with Florence

Emanuele Trechas
Prato, August 19, 2025 - "It should have been the best season of my career, but instead it was the worst: an injury kept me sidelined for most of the season. I only managed to return towards the end. I'll start again from here." These are the words and music of Emanuele Trechas, who has chosen to drop down a division and rejoin Unione Rugby Firenze. The twenty-six-year-old from Prato (who grew up with the Cavalieri) made his senior debut with Florentia during Serie C, before returning to Cavalieri Union in 2018 and remaining there until early 2020. A season and a half before arriving at Noceto almost four years ago, he virtually never took the field due to the cancellation of the 2020/21 season by the FIR due to the health emergency. At that point, the 1999-born rugby player returned to Florentia in Serie B, returning to Serie A following the formation of UR Firenze a couple of seasons ago and even challenging his former "tuttineri" teammates in the last tournament. Last season, he made the big leap, joining Vicenza in Serie A Elite with the chance to play at Italy's top level. However, something went wrong and he wasn't able to perform at his best, partly due to a series of physical problems that plagued him. Therefore, he has chosen to return to Florence: he will be at the starting lineup of the 2025/26 Serie A2 and will play at least twice against the Cavalieri during the championship that begins on October 19th.
