Sport Village heads into the new season. Three hundred athletes and a virtuous model.

The Pesaro competitive swimming season resumes in a few days, and it's doing so with impressive numbers: "We have three hundred competitive athletes out of a thousand in the entire province of Pesaro and Urbino, and we're talking about swimming activities, so in addition to swimming, we also have synchronized swimming and water polo," says Andrea Sebastianelli, president of Sport Village Banca di Pesaro, who provides an update on the situation ahead of the new season: "In addition to the extraordinary results in artistic swimming, with our star athletes Jasmine Verbena and Valentina Bisi, who have confirmed their rankings among the world's top athletes with the San Marino and Italian national teams, we have qualified a dozen of our athletes for the Italian swimming championships. These excellent results are also thanks to our coaches and the valuable support of our sponsor Banca di Pesaro."
These numbers, if expanded, demonstrate the city's comprehensive involvement, and not just in the Parco della Pace facilities, which include state-of-the-art swimming pools and gyms: "We're talking about 200,000 admissions per year, 10,000 users, and 3,000 members who attend our 230 courses, spanning all sports disciplines: not just in the water, but also in the gym. Each has a different purpose, but all are designed to make people feel good. And here I'd like to emphasize the social function of sport. It's not just about winning medals and coming first, but about empowering everyone to participate in sporting activities, whether competitive or not. I'm also referring to the disabled, who make up our wonderful Fisdir team, which achieves excellent results at the regional level, and the seniors who come to our facility every morning, improving their lifestyle and health. Swimming lessons for children will soon resume, and registration is already open at the school office."
A virtuous example at the national level, because while in other cities swimming pools are struggling or closing, in Pesaro they are functioning: "This was possible," say Andrea Sebastianelli and Diego Mondadori, who manage the facility, "thanks to significant investments, from energy efficiency to water recycling to changing rooms, which have allowed us to reduce or contain costs and offer affordable rates: with a €75 monthly membership, a lot can be achieved." Banca di Pesaro supports Sport Village because, says director Paolo Benedetti, "sport is for everyone a tool for health, socialization, and, if necessary, personal fulfillment through results. But above all, it is a way to live better, which is our bank's mission."
