Rodeo Saltillo: Delight your family with delicious hamburgers and hot dogs

In a 100 percent family-friendly atmosphere, the Somos Grill Crew and Terremotines teams were the winners of the Rodeo Saltillo Family Fire contest.

Somos Grill Crew made, in the judges' opinion, the most delicious hamburger, while Terremotines did the same with mouthwatering hot dogs.

All participating teams gave the Rodeo Fest a Sunday of delicious food and a homey atmosphere.

Twenty families from municipalities such as Torreón, Sabinas, Monclova, Ramos Arizpe, and Saltillo registered for this contest, one of the requirements being that one adult per child participate, with a maximum of 10 members.

In this way, adults and children were able to spend time together making delicious hamburgers and hot dogs, not only as a way to spend time with family but also to promote a love of gastronomy among the younger generations.

Anuar Yutani, the event coordinator, explained that the call for applications for this competition was launched two months ago and they received around 50 interested teams, but only 20 were selected.

"Under the instructions of the governor and the Secretary of Tourism, we intended this event to be very family-friendly on a Sunday, and I believe this was achieved because the children were very involved, helping with the preparation of the food," he noted.

He indicated that the young people and children who participate in this event will take away a great deal of learning from this experience, which could transform them into expert restaurateurs or grillers in the future who will continue to promote Coahuila's gastronomy.

Although the competition is entirely amateur, there were teams that demonstrated experience and were evaluated by judges Alfonso López, Wendy Ramos, Cristina Abugarade, Chef Krystela, Chef Samantha Alvarez, and Dr. Parrilla, who, among other things, rated the flavor, consistency, and presentation of both the hamburgers and hot dogs.
