The 2026 World Cup will inject more than $3 billion into Mexico, according to the FMF.

Mexico will receive an economic impact exceeding $3 billion during the 2026 World Cup, which it will host alongside the United States and Canada, with the arrival of some 5.5 million tourists mobilized by the tournament, the Mexican Football Federation (FMF) estimated yesterday, Friday.
The first World Cup to be held in three countries and with 48 teams - between June and July of next year - will play 13 matches in Mexico in three stadiums (Azteca in Mexico City, AKRON in Guadalajara and BBVA in Monterrey).
"More than $3 billion will be generated in economic activity," the FMF said in a statement released after Commissioner Mikel Arriola gave a presentation to business leaders in Guadalajara.
During the World Cup period, the FMF revealed that Mexico expects 5.5 million additional tourists between June and July due to the World Cup, which represents an increase of 44% for that period.
In addition, the creation of 24,000 jobs is expected.
The local federation also highlighted that the investment in the Mexican stadiums that will host the World Cup is $200 million.
Yesterday, Friday, US President Donald Trump announced that the World Cup draw will be held on December 5 at the Kennedy Center in Washington.
