Aldama testifies in the Super Cup case: he claims Koldo García told him he would speak with Luis Rubiales and the CSD.

Víctor de Aldama testified this Wednesday regarding the Super Cup case and confirmed that Koldo García , former advisor to José Luis Ábalos , spoke with the Higher Sports Council (CSD) after asking for help following the team he chaired, Zamora CF, failing to secure the Second Division B spot that FC Andorra secured.

Aldama testified as a witness this Wednesday before the head of the 4th investigating court of Majadahonda (Madrid) who is investigating Luis Rubiales and Gerard Piqué for the contract that took the Super Cup to Saudi Arabia, and has ratified the version that he provided before the National Court in November 2024, in the so-called Koldo case.

Aldama, the alleged leader of a VAT fraud scheme involving hydrocarbons and a broker in the Koldo case, has explained the steps he took in 2019 to secure his team a place in the former Second Division B after Reus FC was relegated due to non-payments, according to legal sources who spoke to EFE.

A "foreign partner" - identified as Jorge Giménez, president of the Venezuelan Football Federation - paid a transfer of 450,000 euros from Panama, although it did not arrive in time "due to money laundering issues at the bank," according to Aldama, who has expressed his displeasure that it was ultimately FC Andorra, owned by Piqué, who took over the spot.

He said he asked Koldo García, former advisor to former minister José Luis Ábalos, for help to find out why Zamora hadn't gotten the position . He told him he would speak with Rubiales and the CSD, although he noted that the latter could do nothing; they had arrived too late, Aldama indicated, adding that he did not know whether Koldo García used any member of the government as an intermediary.

Aldama, who has denied knowing Piqué, has indicated that he also asked former federation president Luis Rubiales for an explanation, who stated that there was nothing they could do either, but the Federation told them they could help arrange for a Women's National Team or Under-21 match to be held in Zamora.

He considered this to be an act of good faith and not compensation, although given that a fee of 750,000 euros had to be paid , it did not seem normal to him and he expressed his anger.

Rubiales, the businessman said, explained that the position was awarded to Andorra because it was in the same geographical area as Reus, and referred him to the legal services.

He also said he was unaware of Rubiales and Piqué's relationship with the Super Cup contract , nor that they could have had any involvement in the negotiations for the Andorra spot.

And he has pointed out that he did not consider appealing the Andorran club's stadium concession, even though his investment in Zamora was around 4 or 5 million euros, and moving up a division means a 30 or 40% increase in revenue.
