Alejandro Davidovich lashes out at the ATP: "Once again, it's clear that we players aren't being taken into account."

Spanish tennis player Alejandro Davidovich Fokina issued a statement on social media this Thursday, lashing out at the ATP over the timing of his match against Czech Jakub Mensik in the round of 32 at the Masters 1000 in Toronto, Canada, scheduled for this Friday in the first round. In it, the Malaga native expressed his "disappointment and anger."

"I want to express my disappointment and anger with the ATP. Tomorrow, all the matches start at 12:30, except for ours, which starts at 11:00. We're an hour away from the club, which forces us to get up early to be ready," Davidovich said in a press release.

"We've asked for it to be changed, but the response has been that everything is already sold out: tickets, television... and that it can't be changed. Once again, it's clear that we players aren't being taken into account ," complained 'Foki' in a statement posted on his social media.

"Today it was someone's turn, tomorrow it's my turn, and starting the day after tomorrow, everyone will play again at 12:30. There are many courts available, but we're the only ones scheduled for 11:00. The ATP always promises solutions, but never does anything," the Malaga-born tennis player charged.

"This isn't the first time it's happened, and when you're inside you realize it's not as nice as it looks from the outside ," concluded 'Foki', who is on a good run after reaching the semi-finals at the Eastbourne tournament, the round of 32 at Wimbledon, and the final in Washington.
