Saraperos vs. Rieleros: Saltillo thrashes Aguascalientes 15-5 at the Alberto Romo Chávez Stadium

The Saraperos de Saltillo offense unleashed a real storm of hits this Friday at the Alberto Romo Chávez stadium, where they categorically won 15-5 over the Rieleros de Aguascalientes, with a brilliant night for JP Martínez and Alex Mejía , who led a parade of home runs and timely attacks that kept the Aguascalientes pitching at bay.
The party started early. In the first inning, Cuban JP Martínez lit the fuse with a solo home run to left field, his first of the season, which put the Saraperos ahead.
However, the lead was short-lived. In the bottom half, Andretty Cordero responded with a two-run homer that turned the score around, and later, a double by José Gómez drove in two more runs to put the home team ahead 4-2.

But the sarape team wasn't about to let the game slip away so quickly. In the second inning, a single by José Peraza brought Saltillo within 4-3 , and in the fourth came the hit that would ultimately change the course of the game.
With a man on base, JP Martínez came back with another home run, this time to right, to give his team the lead back.
Shortly after, Alejandro Mejía joined the fray with a three-run homer that made it 8-4 . In less than an inning, Saraperos had turned the game around and taken complete control.
The team led by Enrique “Che” Reyes didn't slow down and took advantage of every error made by the Aguascalientes pitchers.
Although José Gómez tried to keep the Rieleros alive with a home run in the sixth inning that made it 10-5 , the reaction was insufficient against a Saltillo artillery that seemed unstoppable.
In the seventh, Carlos Martinez hit his first home run of the season, driving in Fernando Villegas to extend the lead to 12-5 .
And if that weren't enough, in the eighth inning Alex Mejía hit his second home run of the night, this time a two-run homer, sealing the win with a powerful line drive to left-center field.
Saltillo ended up hitting five home runs on the night, with key contributions also from Peraza, Villegas and Drew DeVine , who kept the pressure on the opposing pitching staff constant.
The visiting offense produced runs in five of the first eight innings and never let up on the gas.

With this result, the Saraperos reaffirm their ability to cause damage anywhere in the park, while the Rieleros suffer another defeat at home, unable to find stability from the mound.
The victory allows Saltillo to maintain its strong position in the northern region of the Mexican Baseball League and shows that, when their offense is on fire, they can be a true nightmare for any opposing rotation.
It will be today, Saturday, at 6 p.m. sharp when the Dragon of the North looks to close out the series against its rival from Aguascalientes and, thus, reap a grain of hope after consecutive losses in the other matches it has played throughout this 2025 Season.
