Houston. Mexican Ramón Urías beat Jackson Holliday's throw to first, allowing Carlos Correa to score from third base, and the Houston Astros defeated the Baltimore Orioles 5-4 in 12 innings yesterday.

The tricolor helped the American League West-leading Astros achieve their sixth walk-off victory of the season. A night earlier, Urías had thwarted a perfect game attempt in the eighth inning against his former team. Houston extended its division lead to a game and a half.

With the bases loaded and one out , Urías grounded out to third base, but instead of throwing home for the second out , Jordan Westburg attempted a double play . Los Santos' Enyel kept the automatic runner stranded, and the Orioles failed to score in the 11th and 12th innings.

Jason Alexander allowed two runs on three hits in six innings without issuing a walk. He matched his career high with six strikeouts and left the game with the Astros up 3-2. Bryan King allowed a single leading off the seventh inning , but he worked it out.

In the bottom half, Venezuelan José Altuve made it 4-2 with his 22nd home run of the season. Holliday tied it in the eighth with a two-run homer off Bennett Sousa. Baltimore's Cade Povich allowed three runs on five hits in five innings, matching his career high with 10 strikeouts.

Elsewhere, Ben Rice hit a home run and matched his career high with seven RBIs, Aaron Judge also went deep in his first multi- hit game since the All-Star break, and the New York Yankees beat the St. Louis Cardinals 12-8.

More results: Chicago Cubs 3-1 Pittsburgh, Toronto 14-2 Texas and Boston 7-5 Miami.

Pumas and their star goalkeeper, Costa Rican Keylor Navas, let a valuable victory slip away after drawing 1-1 against Toluca in the matchday 5 match of the 2025 Apertura tournament of the Liga MX, played yesterday at the Nemesio Diez stadium.

This placed the gold and blue team in 13th place in the standings, with five points. The reigning champions reached 10 points, moving up to fourth place.

The felines had taken the lead in the 11th minute, thanks to a goal from Jorge Ruvalcaba. However, the scarlet team leveled the score (1-1) in the 66th minute through Jesús Angulo.

On the other hand, Ángel Zaldívar, a forward for FC Juárez and former member of Chivas, reported on social media that his brother and his niece (a minor) were attacked at Akron Stadium, after the match in which his team defeated the red and white team 2-1.

"My brother's nose was broken. It's incredible that this happened in a stadium that will host the World Cup. My family suffered violence when they came to support me. I won't tolerate this and I demand that those responsible be found," he said.

The league said the person involved in the incident “has been fully identified.”
