Early nineties. Computers are still relatively new, especially for my 8-year-old son. He looks over my shoulder with interest as I print out a two-page school report for him, clearly impressed by what such a computer can do. “Look, I click on this button, and then it will print it,” I explain. A progress window appears on the screen with the text 'Printing Page 1 of 2'. Jasper reacts with surprise and a little disillusionment: “Doesn't he even know that?!”
