Police from Otwock detained an aggressive man in the emergency room. The 56-year-old threatened the staff and destroyed the reception. As it turned out, the man was drunk. This is another attack on medical staff in recent times.

The night duty officer of the Otwock police station received a report about an aggressive, brawling man in the reception room of one of the Otwock hospitals . The man was aggressive towards the medical staff and was destroying the reception desk. The police went to the scene and detained the aggressive 56-year-old .

- The hospital employees filed a report in which they described how a 56-year-old man appeared at the hospital and sought help to dress a leg wound. After a while, the man began to behave aggressively - said Deputy Superintendent Patryk Domarecki from the Otwock police station.

- With each passing moment his aggression increased until he started threatening the medical staff with death and destroying the reception desk - he added.

The 56-year-old was taken to the police station and tested for alcohol content. The test showed more than a per mille of alcohol .

Sub-inspector Domarecki explained that the detained man was well-known to Otwock police officers due to his "rich" criminal past. The 56-year-old had been recorded for crimes against property, health and life.

The man was charged with seven counts in total, including making criminal threats, destroying property, violating the physical integrity of a doctor, and insulting medical personnel . In addition, the 56-year-old had previously been convicted of similar crimes and will be held accountable under recidivism conditions. He could be imprisoned for 7.5 years.

The court agreed with the prosecutor’s request and decided to arrest the 56-year-old for three months.

Aggression against hospital staff. Doctor killed in Krakow

This was not the only case of aggression against medical personnel in recent times. In April, doctor Tomasz Solecki was murdered at the University Hospital in Krakow.

The 35-year-old arrested was allegedly dissatisfied with the course of treatment and therefore attacked the orthopedist with a knife. It later turned out that the attacker was an officer of the Prison Service.
