The ceremonial polonaise for 650 couples highlighted the importance of the event from 650 years ago. A large group of dancers were: students of primary and secondary schools, dance groups, teachers, preschoolers, members of local associations and representatives of various institutions and services, as well as residents. The whole thing gained a beautiful setting, because the dancers performed in national and historical costumes.
The atmosphere of shared celebration was certainly shared by all those gathered and allowed for the city’s rich history and traditions to be celebrated in this unusual way.
Among the polonaise dancers were representatives of the local government: the mayor of Jarosław Marcin Nazarewicz and the chairman of the Jarosław City Council Piotr Kozak. The event was also attended by the chairwoman of the Jarosław County Council Grażyna Strzelec and the secretary of the Jarosław County Krzysztof Sopel and the head of the Department of Education and Social Affairs Monika Maziarz.
