  • The General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways signed a contract for the design and construction of a national road to the nuclear power plant.
  • This is a 15-kilometre section from provincial road no. 213 to the Łęczyce junction on the S6 expressway.
  • The investment cost will amount to PLN 200 million.

The General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways announced that it has signed a contract for the design and construction of a national road to a nuclear power plant on the section from provincial road no. 213 to the Łęczyce junction on the S6 expressway . This is the first of two sections of the road to the future "Lubiatowo-Kopalino" power plant in the Choczewo commune.

The announcement states that the consortium of Aldesa Construcciones Polska and Aldesa Construcciones is responsible for less than 15 km of the route . The contract is worth PLN 200 million , with the contractor also responsible for design work, obtaining a decision on the permit for the implementation of the road investment, and then construction work, which is to last until mid-2029.

There are also plans for a second 11-kilometer section from Lubiatowo to provincial road no. 213. What is more, as part of the currently constructed S6 Leśnice - Bożepole Wielkie expressway , a connector will be built between the district road in Łęczyce and the S6 expressway, which will connect the new national road with the Łęczyce junction.

The investment will improve driver safety and the lives of the local community.

The construction of a national road to the nuclear power plant is an important investment not only from a strategic perspective, but also from the point of view of the residents of the local areas. The new route will increase the capacity of the communication system, relieve the network of local roads, and additionally shorten the travel time between the Tri-City and the seaside towns in the Choczewo commune. The investment will improve the safety and comfort of travelers. It will also be of key importance during the tourist season, providing an alternative to travel to the Baltic Sea.

The General Directorate notes that the investment:

  • will improve driver safety,
  • will reduce the negative impact of transport on the environment, including the living conditions of the local community,
  • will reduce the level of noise, vibrations and pollutants emitted by transport.

Moreover, the surface will be adapted to the traffic of vehicles with an axle load of 11.5 t.
