About water in Kany Meadow. One of the common challenges

This is a huge topic - literally. And an increasingly big problem - especially now, i.e. during the prevailing hydrological drought. And at the same time a challenge - in preparing cities for negative climate changes. There will be an opportunity to talk about it, specifically about water and its broadly understood availability - this coming Thursday (May 8), in Szczecin.

The opportunity for this is provided by a special event - a meeting open to everyone at Meadow Kany ph. "Common challenges: Water". It will start at 4 p.m.

- As the Association of Polish Librarians, the Board of the Szczecin Branch, together with the Institute of Biology of the University of Szczecin, we are co-organizing a study visit of members of the Stadtpartner Stettin Association - says Barbara Markowska, a Polish language philologist, librarian, teacher, cultural animator. - On its first day, on Wednesday, an expert panel was held at the Institute of Biology of the University of Szczecin with the participation of representatives of the association, representing Germany, Turkey, Syria, Nicaragua, representatives of local government and academics. Now we invite you to an open meeting, at the Meadow of Kany. To talk about water. About our common challenges related to it and what activities of civil society are related to it. What kind of ecological education, what about collecting rainwater and creating a sponge city? How, for example, do we take care of the cleanliness of the Oder?

Anyone who wants to know how Szczecin's partner cities deal with such problems - water purity and sufficient water for everyone - will have the opportunity to find out during the meeting on Thursday (8th May). Representatives of the Berlin district of Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg, Kadiköy/Istanbul and San Rafael del Sur in Turkey, Derik in Syria, as well as Wiesbaden, Porta Westfalica and Ingelheim am Rhein in Germany will share their experience and knowledge with those interested.
