Bonuses for knowledge, passion, social activity. Gala of Laureates 2025

As many as 253 students from the Police district were recognized during the "District Gala of Laureates 2025". The Police District Governor's Awards were given for scientific, sports, artistic and social achievements.
Among the winners were, among others, winners of knowledge, art, dance and other artistic competitions. As well as people who achieved sports success in very different disciplines - swimming, martial arts, running, team games (football, volleyball).
Those who distinguished themselves with social activity, including volunteers, were also awarded. Among those distinguished in this category were, among others, students from schools operating in the Maria Grzegorzewska Special Educational and Upbringing Center No. 1 for Children with Motor Disabilities in Police. Although they themselves have to overcome various barriers on a daily basis due to their disabilities, they also help others. This facility has a school volunteering program, in which both students and teachers are involved. Some of them help mainly in the Szczecin hospice (volunteers visit the Hospice of St. John the Evangelist in Szczecin, where, for example, they help plant flowers) and some support the local community in Police and Podgrodzie (e.g. in the Senior Home in Podgrodzie and the Regional Support Center for the Disabled on Korczaka Street in Police). Recently, for example, volunteers have also sewn pillows, which they sold to raise money for charity.
- Our children do not need to be persuaded to volunteer - admit the volunteers' guardians: Agnieszka Gazińska, Katarzyna Gutowska and Wioletta Kalwajtys. - They are very sensitive to others, they are happy to help. But volunteering is really about us offering ourselves - what we can do, sometimes very small things. We also have big limitations, but we give what we can.
The greatest satisfaction for them is the reaction of the elderly - their emotion during the visits of volunteers. But the appreciation of their work in the form of a distinction during such a gala, they admit, is also a joy.
The ceremony was attended not only by the awarded students, but also by their teachers, guardians, coaches and numerous guests, including representatives of the district and municipal authorities, public institutions and uniformed services.
The gala was graced by the performance of students who train daily at the Good Dance Academy Association. They won second place at the Polish Grand Prix Championships and also received awards from the Police district governor on Friday.
The Police District Governor's Award is granted to children and youth living in the Police district. Applications are submitted to the Department of Education and Culture of the District Office by school principals, parents or legal guardians.©℗
