Developers will have to disclose housing prices. "Restoring balance"

Polska 2050 has submitted a bill to the Sejm regarding the transparency of housing prices. - This bill requires the disclosure of housing prices sold by developers - explained Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz, Minister of Funds and Regional Policy, on Polsat News. - This is not some kind of wrong for developers. This bill restores real balance between sellers and buyers - she added.

The Minister admitted that the Poland 2050 project has "aroused great interest and positive emotions" from the very beginning. - It would seem that it is such a trifle, but it is a real problem - she said in the "Graffiti" program.

"This bill restores real balance"

- The current situation is a violation of the equal relationship between sellers, a large, strong corporation, and customers who have difficulty recognizing the market - she added.

- This hiding of prices is not only difficult, because you have to call, go, send an email, but also because you find out that there is a price and later it turns out that you have to buy a garage or a storage unit in the package and they cost additional tens of thousands - she explained.

- Once the changes are introduced, all this will have to be disclosed - she stressed.

- In addition to this beneficial solution for people, equalizing their chances, there is something more. There is a feeling that for years in Poland there has been an accepted asymmetry between a person and a large, strong development corporation, in the clash with which a person is helpless. Hence these emotions, people want to be treated equally - she stated.

- This is finally equality and consumer rights, the rights of ordinary people to be treated with respect on the housing market - she added.

Minister: This is not a disservice to developers

The Minister invited everyone to take part in the public consultations on this project. When asked what the coalition partners thought about it, she said she expected them to "side with consumers."

- This is not some kind of harm to developers. This law restores real balance - she emphasized.

The Minister noted that when we go to the store, we don't have to ask about the price of tomatoes at the checkout, because it's visible. - It's normal that the consumer has the right to know how much a given item costs.

- In the case of the developer market, everyone has been saying for years that it can't be done because you won't know what's going on, you have to go to the developer and get a consultation, because you're too limited to understand and assess the realities of the market yourself. Meanwhile, people are able to bear the burden of knowing how much apartments cost on their own - she summed up.
