The eighth-graders from the Primary School in Krasiczyn, because that's who we're talking about, can have reason to be satisfied. Their commitment to the seniors from the Ecumenical Social Welfare Home in Prałkowce was undoubtedly invaluable. Once a month, on Friday after school, the eager school youth spent afternoons with the residents of this place. This tradition has been maintained for the last 10 years, and such a long period was a solid basis for establishing closer relationships that paid off for both parties. The Friday meetings have become a beautiful ritual. They would not have been possible without the commitment of the teachers, who made sure that the initiative started long ago was continued. The youth visited the residents under the care of teachers from the school in Krasiczyn: Katarzyna Ryniak, Marzanna Zachary and Renata Garbarczyk.
[middle1]– A true bond was formed between the generations, based on respect and cordiality. The youth were eager to sit down to board games, manual activities, solving crosswords or chess games. Many meetings ended with a joint singing – sometimes joyful, moving, but always full of commitment. The seniors shared memories from their youth, told stories full of life wisdom and cited their own experiences. The students listened to them attentively, because these stories contained not only memories, but also values that cannot be found in textbooks – says Renata Garbarczyk about the project.
There was no shortage of opportunities to celebrate beautiful moments together. Young and old celebrated many celebrations together, such as Palm Sunday, Grandparents' Day, Valentine's Day, Christmas and Easter, but also the birthdays of the residents.
