Mentzen's dark past leaked. Was he an arms dealer?

The meeting between Rafał Trzaskowski and Sławomir Mentzen is one of the hottest political events of recent days. The Confederation politician informed during the live broadcast that the broadcast was watched by over half a million people. Considering the scale of the broadcast, it is shocking what Mentzen admitted to. All because of raising the issue of making it easier for Poles to access weapons.
Did Trzaskowski have access to weapons? His autobiography revealed itI will not sign any law restricting Poles' access to weapons - was one of the eight demands of Sławomir Mentzen , with which the controversial conversation between politicians began.
Rafał Trzaskowski briefly addressed the issue. The presidential candidate from the Civic Coalition noted that in his opinion "the law is well-constructed" and is quite liberal compared to other countries. The mayor of Warsaw emphasized that he does not intend to make it easier or harder for Poles to access weapons. However, Sławomir Mentzen was outraged by these words, citing Trzaskowski's autobiography, stating that the politician himself had many contacts with firearms.
Back then, I shot everything, even a magnum, but also a Glock and a Beretta – he read, noting that Trzaskowski "shot everything" at the age of 18.
The presidential candidate immediately addressed this issue, noting that he had only practiced such activities at a shooting range. He added that he would not allow access to weapons in Poland to be as widespread as in the United States.
Mentzen reveals dark past. He said it on TVSławomir Mentzen, wanting to convince Rafał Trzaskowski to change his view on access to weapons, referred to his autopsy, revealing the dark side of his pre-political past.
I owned a currency exchange office, I was robbed, I carried large amounts of cash (…) I had a gun shop. There were Kalashnikovs, shotguns. I had dozens, if not hundreds of weapons, but I couldn’t be allowed to have a weapon. The police said I could defend myself with anti-burglary roller shutters. So someone comes to my shop, attacks me, wants to take ten “Kalashnikovs” that I have in storage, so I have to tell him: “Sir, but I have anti-burglary roller shutters there. Run away.” This is how the law looks in Poland now and you don’t want to liberalize it – confessed Sławomir Mentzen.
Although the second part of the statement clearly shows that Sławomir Mentzen quoted the aforementioned anecdote in order to draw attention to the problems of obtaining a firearms permit in Poland, the first part of it clearly reveals his dark past, which until now has remained a mystery to many.
