The city is planning to revitalize the castle park and playgrounds [PHOTOS]

The contractor for the design and cost documentation for the three above-mentioned tasks is to be selected in the recently announced tender entitled "Renewal and development of public spaces", all within the framework of the Integrated Territorial Investments of MOF Przemyśl.

The current image of the city park differs from the one that many residents of Mysłowice may remember from the old days. The condition of the paths and small architectural elements leaves much to be desired. The vast area with beautiful, old trees has its charm, but it is clearly visible that it requires a management approach. Therefore, the planned renovation and maintenance of the park space is an action long awaited by lovers of relaxation in the bosom of nature. The park was revitalized along with the reconstruction of paths and playgrounds in 2011, so a lot of time has passed since then. Last year, the development of the fortress facilities was carried out. Now it is time to restore its proper image. The project, which is to be delivered by the contractor selected in the tender, is to include, among others: renovation of the surface of park paths with a mineral mixture, renovation of paths, squares and terrain stairs with granite cubes and stone slabs, partial replacement of the surface with natural aggregate with that made of natural stone, renovation or reconstruction of park paths with natural aggregate, as well as renovation and maintenance of small architectural elements, including: historic gazebos, a complex of a spring with a fountain and adjacent area, a pond, and partial replacement of park benches. The project is also to include renovation of park playgrounds. Not only their surface is requested to be replaced, but also the devices. Greenery in selected locations is also to be designed. The detailed scope of renovation and replacement of the surface determined by the author of the project will still be subject to arrangements. In turn, the arrangement of playgrounds is to refer to the character of the park (e.g. forest, castle).

Positive changes on the Abolition

In addition to the revitalization project of the park itself, the city also ordered documentation for the renovation of the pedestal of the figure of Jesus and the square around the Cross of Trust on Przemysław Street due to their poor technical condition. The stone cladding of the pedestal, square, stairs and walls is to be replaced, and the green area around it is to be revitalized. The whole is to be adapted to the needs of disabled people, and small architectural elements are to be supplemented.

The playground on Zniesienie also requires urgent renovation, as we wrote recently in a material from November last year. Although the season for spending time outdoors by the youngest [paywall] has just begun, the condition of the facility and the stairs leading to it is still so bad that it is currently unfit for use. The benches on it and the fence surrounding the play area are also in a terrible condition. The documentation ordered by the city is also to include the modernization of this facility. The plans include the construction of a new, safe surface for the playground, the installation of new play equipment, the installation of a permanent fence with a gate and the construction of terrain stairs. The subject of the playground remains to be agreed.

The preparation of design and cost estimate documentation is of course only the first step towards the implementation of all three investments, but it is necessary to be able to get started with this topic.
