The entire Poland can envy their city market. Greenery on the roof, and the rental price is even PLN 1

- On July 5, the Green Market was opened in Ciechanów. It is one of the largest municipal investments in the infrastructure and public space in Ciechanów in recent years.
- Just two years ago, a degraded municipal market operated in this area. Today, there is no trace of the unsightly booths, uneven surface and mud. The renovated place is conducive to the development of trade and the integration of residents.
- The City Hall states that there is no other place in Poland that offers such a favorable offer for entrepreneurs.
The new facility with an area of 2.6 thousand m2 is located at ul. Płońska 28 in Ciechanów. A modern, architecturally attractive and ecological commercial and service complex provides a comfortable place of business for merchants and entrepreneurs from Ciechanów, and for residents access to local products.
The construction of the Green Market was a bold vision that assumed a fundamental change in thinking about what a modern city market should be. From a place with declining trade, we created a friendly space that attracts. The Green Market will of course support the development of local entrepreneurship and provide residents with modern conditions for shopping. But at the same time, my goal was to give residents a fascinating, aesthetic area for meetings and integration. We focused on implementing many ecological solutions to give this place a unique and functional character.
– emphasizes the mayor of Ciechanów , Krzysztof Kosiński.
Development impulse for the city - tenants pay a symbolic PLN 1 per m2The city has applied preferential terms for 17 entrepreneurs who submitted their offers in the competition and rent premises in the area of Zielony Targ. They were made available by the city to entrepreneurs on preferential rental terms. Lessors pay a symbolic PLN 1 per m2 . Each interior is equipped with sanitary facilities to ensure hygienic conditions for conducting trade.
Zielony Targ is also a trading infrastructure for local merchants and farmers . In the central part of the facility there is a partially roofed area. On market days it will be an attractive place to shop.
About 50 merchants and farmers who want to sell local food products will be trading at the market.
Ecological solutions and greenery plantingDuring the construction of Zielony Targ, a number of ecological solutions were used, which aim to optimize the maintenance costs of the facility and minimize energy consumption. Air ventilation with heat recovery, photovoltaic panels and a heat pump enable natural collection and storage of energy needed for the proper and economical functioning of the facility.
A roof water retention tank allows for the collection of water during rainfall and for watering plants. Eco-pavement parking lots allow water to pass into the ground. Energy-saving lighting provides comfort and safety while minimizing power consumption.

The area around the facility has been enriched with numerous plantings of trees, shrubs and flowers, which decorate the place and emphasize its ecological character. The architectural attraction of the building is the green roof with an area of 1.3 thousand m2, on which there is also a catering facility. Its launch is planned for the turn of August and September.
Around the building, there are over 90 parking spaces for cars of market customers, delivery vehicles, vehicles of traders or renters of premises. With people moving on two wheels in mind, bicycle racks have been installed.
The design of the building has been adapted to make it fully accessible to people with disabilities. Inside, elevators have been installed, which also allow older people and parents shopping with small children in strollers to reach the first floor.
The value of the entire investment, including land development, is approximately PLN 22.7 million, of which PLN 21 million was obtained by the city hall as preferential repayable funds from the “ Green Transformation of Cities” instrument under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (European funds).
