The naysayers say we're having a beautiful autumn this summer. As it turns out, maybe even winter. It's the end of August, and in northern Poland you could... build snowmen. And no, it's not a joke. Social media is flooded with photos of snow figures.
The weather in the country hasn't been kind. Residents of northern Poland were particularly impressed. An icy wind gust across the Baltic Sea brought heavy hail. So much so that snowmen could be made from the hailstones.
West Pomeranian Voivodeship. An unexpected sight on the beach. You can build snowmen.On Saturday, August 23rd, the West Pomeranian Voivodeship turned white. Social media was flooded with photos and videos of hail. Heavy rainfall occurred in Niechorze, but also in Pobierowo and the Rewal commune.
The hail was so intense that some residents and tourists had to wait out the rain in a secluded place.
Hail also arrived in Lubuskie.
Commenters spoke of a weather anomaly. Some approached the whole situation with a smile.
