VI Subcarpathian Literary Spring

The Podkarpacka Literary Spring is another annual event during which literary creators have the opportunity to meet and present their own work. This year's, sixth edition, gathered a very large group of creators associated in literary groups from almost the entire Podkarpacie region.
The special guest of this event was Wiesław Buż, vice-voivode of Podkarpacie. The meeting took place on April 25 at the Osiedlowy Dom Kultury "Karton" in Rzeszów. It is worth mentioning that the originator of these annual poetry meetings was, unfortunately, the late Stefan Nawrocki. Those gathered honored the memory of the deceased writer with a minute of silence.
The meeting was opened and led by the director of ODK Józef Tadla, who also performed in the music program, alongside vocalists Adrianna Nycz and Emilia Winiarska. Joyful spring notes resounded in both poetry and musical pieces, although there were also deeper existential reflections.
In a ceremonial manner, diplomas and cards of "Honorary Members of ZLP" were also presented. This honorable membership was awarded to: Jadwiga Kupiszewska – poet, painter and cultural animator from Rzeszów and Mieczysław Szabadze
– poet, actor, cultural animator and president of the RSTK in Przemyśl.
In this year's extremely rich program of the meeting, the Rzeszów Branch of the Association of Polish Writers - co-organizer of the event - presented its members with annual awards and distinctions. The "Book of the Year" award was given to: in poetry - Józef Bilski for the volume "Natura rzeczy", in prose - Wiesław Hop for the novel "Jastrzębie nad połoniną". The Board's Award was given to: Father Krzysztof Lechowicz for his entire creative work on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of literary work and Edward Bolec for promoting artists from Podkarpacie in the Polish diaspora newspaper "Biały Orzeł", published in the USA. Diplomas and ID cards of "Honorary Members of the Association of Polish Writers" were also presented in a ceremonial manner. This honorable membership was awarded to: Jadwiga Kupiszewska – poet, painter and cultural animator from Rzeszów and Mieczysław Szabadze – poet, actor, cultural animator and president of RSTK from Przemyśl. Taking advantage of this solemn ceremony, the president of the ZLP branch, Mirosław Welz, presented a membership card to Aleksandra Pigula, who was recently accepted into the ranks of the members of the Union of Polish Writers.
Vice-governor Wiesław Buż, congratulating the winners on their creative successes, emphasized the great significance of the Rzeszów Branch of the Writers’ Union, which brings together talented writers, as well as the enormous significance of culture in building our statehood.
