Natural deaths in mining plants. WUG indicated the main causes

As indicated by the State Mining Authority, the highest number of natural deaths in the analysed period (10) was recorded in 2021.
The analysis of natural deaths recorded in 2020-2024 by age group showed that out of 38 deaths, the largest number - 24 (63.2%) occurred among employees over 41 years of age.
The analysis shows that the number of deaths among workers aged 20-30 and over 50 is decreasing.
In the age group 41-50, the number of deaths in 2024 decreased slightly compared to 2024. However, the highest number of deaths still occurs in this age group.
More than 13 percent of deaths occurred among surface workers. The analysis of natural deaths shows that over 13% (5) of deaths recorded in 2020-2024 were recorded by surface workers. Compared to the previous period (2019-2023), there was a decrease in the number of surface worker deaths by 5 cases.
The leading cause of natural deaths recorded in 2020-2024 was myocardial infarction caused by acute circulatory and respiratory failure . The year 2024 did not differ from previous years in this respect either. All deaths occurring in 2024 were of cardiological origin.
Causes of all deaths occurring in 2024 in mining operations:
None of the injured persons performed heavy physical work, with unusual, excessive effort. In two cases, psychoactive substances were found in the blood of the injured, which, in the opinion of medical experts, could have contributed to sudden death.
As indicated by WUG , the investigation into the circumstances in which the deaths occurred includes, among other things, working conditions and activities performed by the injured immediately before the event. In the years 2020-2024, none of the injured employees performed heavy physical work, with unusual, excessive effort. The hidden cardiological diseases that caused the deaths were revealed during the performance of ordinary, physically unburdensome work.
