Prices in May. We know who reduced their shopping basket by more than 7 percent.

Auchan was the leader in terms of the lowest prices in May, ahead of Selgros and Makro Cash & Carry, according to the research agency ASM SFA.
The average cost of an ASM SFA shopping basket in Auchan was PLN 262.16. This is a decrease of PLN 20.20, or 7.16 percent less than the cheapest basket in April, which also belonged to the Auchan chain a month ago.
The differences in the average basket price between the first, second and third stores in the ranking were PLN 37.55 (Selgros Cash & Carry) and PLN 47.04 (Makro Cash & Carry), respectively.
The highest value of the shopping basket in May was recorded in the Intermarché chain, where the analysed set of products cost PLN 335.36.
Among the traditional chain categories, the cheapest purchases could be made in hypermarkets - PLN 302.41. In the comparison of sales channels, the highest, average prices of the products examined in the shopping basket were recorded in the dark store - PLN 357.44. On the other hand, the cheapest purchases (PLN 295.30) could be made in hybrid chains.
The ASM SFA survey showed that in May, among the 15 products of greatest importance to consumers, the most significant month-on-month price increases were recorded for toothpaste (9.54%) and coffee (6.41%).
The biggest reductions were for tomatoes (30.65 percent) and shower gel (5.83 percent). (PAP Biznes)
